Many times you'll want to include relevant files in your documentation of federal casework in fireside. This tutorial spells out the exact steps for you below:
Add Files Button
When you open a case in fireside there is an ‘add files’ button at the top.
To add a file to a case click on the 'add files' button. That pops up a window that says “Drop Files here or Click to Upload”. You can then put files into a queue to be added to a case with the click of a button.
One way to add a file to the queue is to click on ‘Click to Upload’. That opens up a file browser menu that lets you navigate to where you have the file saved, perhaps in your documents folder or on a shared drive. You can then select the file by clicking on it and then click ‘open’ to add the file to the queue. You can also hold ctrl on your keyboard and click to select multiple files to upload multiple files at once. Once you’ve selected a file and clicked open the file will appear inside the add files box.
Another way to add a file to the add files box queue is to drag and drop it from your desktop or windows file explorer. To do this first navigate to where the file is saved and then click and drag the file onto the casework page inside the dotted line in the gray space around the entire page.
Once you’ve either clicked to upload or dragged and dropped a file onto the add files page any files you’ve added will show up in the add files box queue.
If you selected the wrong file you can click the trash can icon to the right of the file size to remove that file. Then when you’re ready to fully add it to the case click the blue ‘Add’ button in the lower right hand corner. That actually adds the file(s) to the case.
You can also see that there is a column for file size. There is a 100MB file size limit for adding a file to a case.
Other ways to attach files:
There are additional ways to attach files to cases. Instead of directly clicking the add files button, you can drag and drop a file onto the case page without clicking the add files button first.
Finally you can still use the add note button to add a note and file at the same time to a case using the same methods as above.
