Grouping two or more people who live at the same address into a household is quick and easy! The goal of this action is to let Fireside know when and where it can reduce mail. If two (or more) people who have been grouped together in a household appear in a batch or bulk mailing and have the same form letter applied, Fireside knows to combine those mail records into one. This way, only one letter is sent to that home.
To start this process, you must first make sure that each person that you want to place in the household has a profile in Fireside. Once you are sure everyone exists in Fireside, use the People>Search page and enter search terms that will bring up all of the people that you want to group into a household. These terms can include last name and city or last name and part of the street address (the % or wildcard can be helpful with address searches).
On this next "Create a Household" screen, first you will want to select a Head of Household by using the radio buttons to the right of the person's information. Next, confirm the members of the household by placing a check mark next to each user that should be in this household (shown below).
Next, you can give the Household a name that will be used to identify it and a salutation that will be used when addressing the household in form letters, etc.
