Email correspondence templates are used with the Fireside CRM to enable responses to constituents to be formatted inside of an HTML message body. These templates can also be used to create personalized staff response signatures that are convenient for Caseworkers or DC staff who respond to flag and tour requests.
**To alter or create an email correspondence template, you must be an Account Owner. Additionally, since editing or creating email correspondence templates can deal heavily with HTML code, we are happy to assist in creating a new one or making edits to an existing one. Just hop into chat or send us an email at help@fireside21.com.**
To view your email correspondence templates, go to the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of Fireside, and click "Settings." (NOTE: If you have a Lifesaver icon instead of a Gear, you are not an Account Owner and will not be able to proceed.)

From the main Settings page, choose "Email Templates" under Mail Room.

Your account has one default, pre-selected template that is marked "DEFAULT TEMPLATE." IMPORTANT: Changing the Default Template means you will make changes to the look or function of ALL outbound correspondence to constituents. Proceed with caution!

You can edit any template by clicking on its name or create a new template by clicking the "New Template" button.
Create a new email correspondence template:
Click the "New Template" button.
Step 1 - Name and Email address
- Enter in the name of this template. For this, we'd recommend a prefix such as "YourName-Type of Template."
- Enter your full name and email address (as you want them to be displayed in people's inboxes).
- Click the "Save/Next" button
Step 2 - Plain Text
- All emails from the Fireside CRM have both a plain and HTML version. The only required information on this page is the [EMAIL-TEMPLATE-BODY] tag, but you can additionally include your standard signature (but remember with plain text, you can't have hyperlinks, etc.).
[EMAIL-TEMPLATE-BODY]
Franklin Roosevelt, Caseworker
Rep. Joe Congressman
1666 K Street, NW
(202) 621-5121
(202) 621-5122 (fax)
http://joecongressman.house.gov
- Click "Save/Next" again.
Step 3 - HTML Version
- Add the same information from Step 2, but you will note additional text editor tools to help customize this version (adding hyperlinks, colors, etc.). Click the "Finish" button.
That's it! Now whenever you are sending an email from the Mail Room or Casework sections of your Fireside CRM, you will see your new email template in a dropdown as a part of Response Options. If you want to send an email from your personal account, just select the appropriate template.
